Khan faces Lo Greco in Liverpool return
Sean 'Masher' Dodd, Conor Benn, Natasha Jonas and Anthony Fowler appear on undercard
Amir Khan will face Phil Lo Greco on his return to the ring at Echo Arena in Liverpool on 21 April live on Sky Sports.
Former unified Light-Welterweight ruler Khan is back in action for the first time since May 2016 where he stepped up to Middleweight to face Mexican star Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez and now the 31 year old is determined to get back on the road to World title glory in his first fight of a three-fight deal with Matchroom Boxing.
Lo Greco has mixed in great company with having been in with Errol Spence and Shawn Porter, and ‘The Italian Sensation’ came face-to-face with Khan at a press conference in Liverpool – and both men are predicting an exciting fight, with ‘King’ Khan promising to show that he’s back to his best, but Lo Greco coming to KO the Brit star.
“I can’t wait to get back into the ring on April 21 at the Echo Arena in Liverpool,” said Khan. “Phil Lo Greco will be coming with everything to win this fight and I’m not going to give him an inch. He’s an aggressive fighter who is always looking to press the fight and come forward. That makes for a very exciting and action-packed fight for the fans.
“He’s shared the ring with the likes of Spence Jr and Porter, so he’s operated at the highest level. I respect him as a fighter and know he will be coming with big ambitions but I’m going to put on a great performance and prove to the boxing world that the ‘King’ is well and truly back.”
“Being my first fight in the UK, I'm excited about the crowd,” said Lo Greco. “I can’t wait to feel that energy. As much as UK fans love their fighters, they love great fights and I promise just that. This night will go down as one of the best fights ever in the UK.
“I'd like to thank, Eddie, Sam, Al Haymon, and of course, the entire Khandashian family for letting your daughter come out and play.
“I'm happy Amir decided to yank up his skirt and end his long-going tea party. It was time he manned up. I’ve got a full training camp this time around, there will be no room for error. Amir Khan will be knocked out.
“I’ve noticed Amir loves going more to Dubai, so I’ll send him to Du-bai, and he’ll go bub-bye, #AmirGONE.
“Boxing teaches us, history repeats itself. Once your knocked out cold, it only gets worse.”
Khan’s clash with Lo Greco is part of a huge night of action on Merseyside as Birkenhead’s Sean ‘Masher’ Dodd defends his Commonwealth Lightweight title against Tommy Coyle, and former Team GB Olympians Natasha Jonas and Anthony Fowler and unbeaten Super-Welterweight Scott Fitzgerald are all in action.

Tears for Fears take to the stage at the Echo Arena!
Having sold 30 million albums worldwide, performed to countless sold out audiences, and won various awards, Tears For Fears – Roland Orzabal [vocals, guitar, keyboards] and Curt Smith [vocals, bass, keyboards] – are one of the most influential bands to have come out of the UK. With a catalogue of classic albums namely the gold-certified debut The Hurting , quintuple-platinum BRIT Award-winning Songs from the Big Chair , and Seeds of Love and a string of huge hits, including classics such as “Everybody Wants To Rule The World,” “Shout,” “Mad World,” “Head Over Heels,” “Woman In Chains,” these shows are not to be missed!
Joining Tears For Fears on all UK & Ireland dates is Alison Moyet. In a 35-year recording career, three-times BRIT Award-winner and Grammy-nominee, Alison Moyet, has released 9 solo studio albums and a further 3 compilations. 2017 sees Alison continuing to make adventurous lyrical electronic pop music with her critically-acclaimed album Other, and embarking on her biggest world.
Tears For Fears recently announced the release of their first career-spanning Greatest Hits album, Rule The World which is out November 10th on Virgin/EMI. Not only does Rule The World feature all the aforementioned hits and more, but it also boasts the first original music from the duo since 2004, the new single “I Love You But I’m Lost” and acoustic track “Stay”.
Beyond their own output, Tears For Fears have influenced many artists today including being sampled by Kanye West, The Weeknd, David Guetta, Drake, and more, while also being covered by Lorde, Adam Lambert, Gary Jules, and Disturbed, to name a few. Meanwhile, classic songs figure prominently everywhere from The Wire and Donnie Darko to Straight Outta Compton and Mr. Robot.
Everybody Loves A Happy Ending was released after a 15 years hiatus in 2004, which rekindled the creative fire between the duo. Breaking another quiet spell, the boys engaged in a three-year touring whirlwind across North America, Japan, South Korea, Manila, and South America beginning in 2010. 2013 saw them return with their first recorded music in a decade: a cover of Arcade Fire’s “Ready to Start.”
First coming to prominence as one half of pioneering electronic duo Yazoo, their short-lived alchemic partnership produced two seminal hit albums, before disbanding at the height of their success. Following a furious bidding war, Alison signed to CBS and an extraordinary solo career began. As well as completing acting runs in both Chicago - The Musical and Smaller (with Dawn French) for which she co-wrote the production's song material, she performed at Live Aid, released the live DVD recording of 'One Blue Voice' and is a Nordoff Robbins Icon Award recipient.

The artistic concept and title for Beautiful world, where are you? derives from a 1788 poem by the German poet Friedrich Schiller, later set to music by Austrian composer Franz Schubert in 1819. The years between the composition of Schiller’s poem and Schubert’s song saw great upheaval and profound change in Europe, from the French Revolution to the fall of the Napoleonic Empire. Today the poem continues to suggest a world gripped by deep uncertainty; a world of social, political and environmental turmoil. It can be seen as a lament but also as an invitation to reconsider our past, advancing a new sense of beauty that might be shared in a more equitable way.

Jason said: "Somebody said to me on my Facebook fan page, 'it's been ages since you've toured'. I thought 'no way, it was last year wasn't it? Anyway, long story short, they were right, it was years ago! I just got fooled cos I've been on tour doing musicals and the last tour is repeated on Dave ja Vu 13 times a day! So I’ve been putting some stuff together, looking at my life and how it's changed over the years, how the world has changed and how my parents haven't changed a bit! It's going to be a great tour and I can't wait to see you there.”

LIMF 2018 will take over the heart of this glorious green space to showcase world-famous names alongside the best of music’s rising stars, all appearing right here in Liverpool, UNESCO World City of Music.
The sixth annual festival runs from July 21-22, and more than 100,000 music lovers are expected to flock to the South Liverpool park for two days of great melodies and brilliant beats.
In 2017 LIMF welcomed names like Trevor Nelson, Corinne Bailey Rae, Jax Jones, Kate Nash, Slick Rick and Naughty Boy – as well as providing the stage for an emotional homecoming gig by Liverpool’s own Britpop legends Cast.
And organisers are promising this 2018 event will be the biggest and best to date.
Over two days, LIMF will reflect Liverpool’s ever-evolving relationship with music and its
creative cultural diversity, with a little something for everyone; from Pop to Urban to House.
There will be a return for the award-winning LIMF Academy, a talent development programme which supports emerging artists and LIMF Summer Jam, a family friendly spectacular spread across several stages in different locations around the park.
Meanwhile, for those who love the festival atmosphere but like a bit of luxury at the same time, organisers are also promising a return for the LIMF VIP EXERIENCE, which gives festival goers access to front of stage views, a private bar area, and all-important plush loos, plus one or two new additions for 2018.
Cavern City Tours is proud to bring you our annual International Beatleweek Festival, which celebrates the music of the most famous pop group the world has ever known, the Beatles. In the city where it all began, Liverpool.
There is so much to do and see that you don’t need to be a Beatle fan to enjoy the festival, though it probably helps! This is truly an international event with 70 bands from over 20 countries and fans from over 40.
Live music is the focus of International Beatleweek. Not only do we have live music on the Cavern’s three stages all day, every day (with a different band on every hour), but we also go out into the city to various venues so you can get a real feel of Liverpool.
One of the greatest challenges against one of the world’s most formidable foes – Mother Nature – comes to a thrilling climax in Liverpool in summer 2018.
Thousands of well-wishers lined the waterfront last summer to wave off the intrepid crews taking part in the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race. Eleven months and 40,000 gruelling nautical miles later, a dozen 70ft ocean racing yachts are set to return to the Mersey in July in a celebration of teamwork, tenacity, grit and determination.
They are guaranteed as warm a welcome as they had a send-off in this historic maritime city. The race is the brainchild of Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, who was the first person to sail solo round the world, and this is the fourth time in 11 competitions it has been hosted by Liverpool.
Sir Robin’s aim was to allow anyone, regardless of previous sailing experience, the chance to embrace the thrill of ocean racing. So unlike the legendary sailor, the crew members on board the 12 identical Clippers are not professional yachtsmen and women, but amateurs and novices from all walks of life – taxi drivers, housewives, bartenders, farmers, engineers, students and even vicars.
Did you know that more people have climbed Mount Everest than have raced around the Earth under sail? These hardy adventurers are battling their way from the Roaring Forties to the Doldrums, across the Equator and International Date Line, and through the Atlantic, Pacific and Southern Oceans, to be first to reach the River Mersey and the welcome sight of Liverpool’s wonderful World Heritage waterfront - and a safe berth in the historic Albert Dock. Along with the Tall Ships Regatta in May, the return of the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race puts the mighty Mersey firmly centre stage in our year of cultural celebrations.
