Everything will be shipshape and Liverpool fashion in 2018 as we welcome the wonderful Tall Ships back to the River Mersey.
The Three Festivals Tall Ships Regatta will link a trio of vibrant port cities – Liverpool, Dublin and Bordeaux – with some nail-biting racing across the Irish Sea and Bay of Biscay. And it all begins here over the late May Bank Holiday weekend.
We can guarantee the magnificent masted ships will create a stunning sight as they make their way up river to start the hotly-contested Regatta from Liverpool’s world-famous, UNESCO World Heritage waterfront.
This is the fifth time Liverpool has hosted these evocative historic craft in the past three decades, and during Capital of Culture year an estimated million people packed the banks of the river to catch a glimpse of the parade of sail.
Between May 25-28, the city will be transformed in to three cultural festivals – Liverpool Festival in the city centre, Irish Festival at the Albert Dock and French Festival on the Pier Head, each with their own unique atmosphere and cultural experience.
Expect spectacular performances, unique entertainment, street animation and live music, as Liverpool Waterfront is transformed.
So ready your sea legs and follow the fleet to Liverpool for four memorable and uplifting days of maritime magic.

The artistic concept and title for Beautiful world, where are you? derives from a 1788 poem by the German poet Friedrich Schiller, later set to music by Austrian composer Franz Schubert in 1819. The years between the composition of Schiller’s poem and Schubert’s song saw great upheaval and profound change in Europe, from the French Revolution to the fall of the Napoleonic Empire. Today the poem continues to suggest a world gripped by deep uncertainty; a world of social, political and environmental turmoil. It can be seen as a lament but also as an invitation to reconsider our past, advancing a new sense of beauty that might be shared in a more equitable way.

Jason said: "Somebody said to me on my Facebook fan page, 'it's been ages since you've toured'. I thought 'no way, it was last year wasn't it? Anyway, long story short, they were right, it was years ago! I just got fooled cos I've been on tour doing musicals and the last tour is repeated on Dave ja Vu 13 times a day! So I’ve been putting some stuff together, looking at my life and how it's changed over the years, how the world has changed and how my parents haven't changed a bit! It's going to be a great tour and I can't wait to see you there.”

Prepare to experience an unforgettable weekend of the biggest tunes and the brightest talent with the return of Liverpool International Music Festival to Sefton Park.
LIMF 2018 will take over the heart of this glorious green space to showcase world-famous names alongside the best of music’s rising stars, all appearing right here in Liverpool, UNESCO World City of Music.
The sixth annual festival runs from July 21-22, and more than 100,000 music lovers are expected to flock to the South Liverpool park for two days of great melodies and brilliant beats.
In 2017 LIMF welcomed names like Trevor Nelson, Corinne Bailey Rae, Jax Jones, Kate Nash, Slick Rick and Naughty Boy – as well as providing the stage for an emotional homecoming gig by Liverpool’s own Britpop legends Cast.
And organisers are promising this 2018 event will be the biggest and best to date.
Over two days, LIMF will reflect Liverpool’s ever-evolving relationship with music and its
creative cultural diversity, with a little something for everyone; from Pop to Urban to House.
There will be a return for the award-winning LIMF Academy, a talent development programme which supports emerging artists and LIMF Summer Jam, a family friendly spectacular spread across several stages in different locations around the park.
Meanwhile, for those who love the festival atmosphere but like a bit of luxury at the same time, organisers are also promising a return for the LIMF VIP EXERIENCE, which gives festival goers access to front of stage views, a private bar area, and all-important plush loos, plus one or two new additions for 2018.
Cavern City Tours is proud to bring you our annual International Beatleweek Festival, which celebrates the music of the most famous pop group the world has ever known, the Beatles. In the city where it all began, Liverpool.
There is so much to do and see that you don’t need to be a Beatle fan to enjoy the festival, though it probably helps! This is truly an international event with 70 bands from over 20 countries and fans from over 40.
Live music is the focus of International Beatleweek. Not only do we have live music on the Cavern’s three stages all day, every day (with a different band on every hour), but we also go out into the city to various venues so you can get a real feel of Liverpool.
One of the greatest challenges against one of the world’s most formidable foes – Mother Nature – comes to a thrilling climax in Liverpool in summer 2018.
Thousands of well-wishers lined the waterfront last summer to wave off the intrepid crews taking part in the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race. Eleven months and 40,000 gruelling nautical miles later, a dozen 70ft ocean racing yachts are set to return to the Mersey in July in a celebration of teamwork, tenacity, grit and determination.
They are guaranteed as warm a welcome as they had a send-off in this historic maritime city. The race is the brainchild of Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, who was the first person to sail solo round the world, and this is the fourth time in 11 competitions it has been hosted by Liverpool.
Sir Robin’s aim was to allow anyone, regardless of previous sailing experience, the chance to embrace the thrill of ocean racing. So unlike the legendary sailor, the crew members on board the 12 identical Clippers are not professional yachtsmen and women, but amateurs and novices from all walks of life – taxi drivers, housewives, bartenders, farmers, engineers, students and even vicars.
Did you know that more people have climbed Mount Everest than have raced around the Earth under sail? These hardy adventurers are battling their way from the Roaring Forties to the Doldrums, across the Equator and International Date Line, and through the Atlantic, Pacific and Southern Oceans, to be first to reach the River Mersey and the welcome sight of Liverpool’s wonderful World Heritage waterfront - and a safe berth in the historic Albert Dock. Along with the Tall Ships Regatta in May, the return of the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race puts the mighty Mersey firmly centre stage in our year of cultural celebrations.
